On #InternationalWomensDay we pay tribute to Her Majesty The Queen and her amazing jewels!
There can be few greater roles than the Queen of England so with today being #InternationalWomensDay, we would like to salute our amazing Monarch, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. I love the Queen - she's always immaculate and always majestic. Her iconic look is never disappointing. With such responsibility, there has to be some perks and my favourite would be the jewellery! Today I'm focussing on an iconic diamond necklace - The Coronation Necklace to be precise.
This magnificent piece of jewellery was made for Queen Victoria in 1858 by R&S Garrad & Co. It was subsequently worn at the coronations of Queen Alexandra in 1901, Queen Mary in 1911, Queen Elizabeth in 1937 and Her Majesty The Queen in 1953 - hence it's name 'The Coronation Necklace'.
Most royal jewellery undergoes modifications and this necklace is no exception. It now features 25 graduated cushion cut brilliant diamonds set in silver with gold links - super fancy! It features a large pendant diamond known as the Lahore Diamond - a whopping 22.48 carats!! It's absolutely stunning and the perfect choice for such an incredible life changing occasion.
Happy Womens Day!!
